Rachel Grant

Bio

Rachel oversees all aspects of NESTA's communications activity and strategy. She has a range of communications and political experience. Rachel joined NESTA from UK Film Council where she was Head of Communications. Prior to that role she was the Head of News at the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, where she had to establish the communications crisis management operation during animal health outbreaks and floods. She also did a great deal of proactive work around climate change and launching the Government's carbon calculator on Second Life. Her career has also seen her working for the Department of Work and Pensions, running the media campaigns around pension and welfare reform, and for Downing Street as a senior press officer. Rachel has also worked at the Department for Education; Shelter and International Herald Tribune; and she has done some freelance work for Time Out.
