Mr Brent Ahrens

Bio

Mr Ahrens began his tenure at Canaan through the Kauffman Fellows Program in July 1999 and subsequently joined the Canaan staff in November 2000. Prior to Canaan, worked for a venture-backed medical device company, GSI, where he managed business development, marketing, and sales efforts. In addition to his experience at GSI, he also worked for the Ethicon Endo-Surgery division of Johnson & Johnson where he was involved with the development and launch of numerous products that generate annual revenue in excess of USD35 million. In addition to his life sciences experience, spent five years as a Senior Research Engineer at IAP Research, developing a variety of electromagnetic technologies for both defense and commercial applications. Currently serves on the Board of Directors at CardioVention, Coapt Systems, DexCom, Novare Surgical, Peninsula Pharmaceuticals, Revivant, and UltraGuide. Mr Ahrens holds an ABS and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton.
