Bio

David has been involved with investing in growth technology companies for most of his professional career. From 1999 to 2007, David was a general partner with Oak Investment Partners. During his tenure at Oak, David led and managed equity investments in a range of communications/IT-focused products and services companies including NextG Networks, Lumasense Technologies, Presidio Network Solutions, Zayo Group, Wavestream and CoreTek (sold to Nortel). Before joining Oak, David worked at McKinsey & Company. While at McKinsey, David served clients in the telecommunications, media and financial services industries. His primary focus was developing and implementing strategies for new product introduction, evaluating new market opportunities and joint ventures/alliances, as well as developing execution capabilities. David also has significant experience internationally, having worked and lived in countries as diverse as China, Indonesia, Brazil and Vietnam. Currently, David is on the board of directors of Lumasense Technologies and TrustID and is serving as an advisor for Gazillion and Pathway Genomics. David received his B.A. in physics from the University of California at Berkeley and earned a Ph.D. in solid state physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the MIT Research Lab of Electronics and completed a J.D. at the Harvard Law School.
