Bio

John Grotting joined Frazier Healthcare in 2010 as an Operating Partner, working with the firm’s growth equity team to identify investment opportunities in hospital outsourcing and services. Before joining Frazier Healthcare, from 2004 to 2009 Mr. Grotting served as CEO of medical device reprocessor Ascent Healthcare Solutions which was acquired by Stryker Corporation in December 2009 ($568 million transaction value). Ascent and Grotting were recognized as “Innovator of the Year” at the 2010 private equity Healthcare Innovation Conference. Prior to Ascent, Mr. Grotting served as Chairman/CEO of Bridge Medical, Inc., a medical software company focused on eliminating preventable medication, lab specimen and blood transfusion errors in hospitals. Following successful commercialization of Bridge Medical technology, AmerisourceBergen acquired the company in 2003 ($67 million transaction value). Prior to Ascent and Bridge, he served in senior executive positions at Minnesota based Allina Health System and Oregon based Legacy Health System John has served on numerous corporate and community boards and currently is active on the boards of Skylight Systems, VHA and Vocera. Mr. Grotting holds a Master’s degree in Hospital and Healthcare Management from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. in Economics from St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN.
