Bio

Peter L. Briger, Jr. is a principal and Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fortress Investment Group LLC. He has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Fortress since November 2006 and was elected Co-Chairman in August 2009. Mr. Briger has been a member of the Management Committee of Fortress since March 2002. Mr. Briger is responsible for the Credit fund business. Prior to joining Fortress in March 2002, Mr. Briger spent fifteen years at Goldman, Sachs & Co., or Goldman Sachs, where he became a partner in 1996. Over the course of his career at Goldman Sachs, he held the positions of co-head of the Whole Loan Sales and Trading business, co-head of the Fixed Income Principal Investments Group, co-head of the Asian Distressed Debt business, co-head of the Goldman Sachs Special Opportunities (Asia) Fund LLC and co-head of the Asian Real Estate Private Equity business. In addition, he was a member of the Goldman Sachs Global Control and Compliance Committee, a member of the Goldman Sachs Asian Management Committee and a member of the Goldman Sachs Japan Executive Committee. Mr. Briger currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Princeton University Investment Company. Mr. Briger received a B.A. from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
