Sridar Iyengar

Bio

Sridar Iyengar, an operating partner in Bessemer’s Menlo Park, Calif. office, joined the firm in 2007. He chairs the firm’s India Advisory Board and serves on the boards of IT- outsourcing company Infosys Technologies, ICICI Bank, telecommunications provider OnMobile and Indian-news Web site Rediff.com. Sridar has been an independent advisor to a number of companies, particularly those operating in the U.S./India corridor. He has spent 35 years involved in global business, 15 years of which were India-related. Until March 2002, Sridar was a partner with KPMG LLP, where he worked in the UK, U.S. and India practices across all disciplines, including audit, tax, consulting and corporate finance. He helped set up KPMG's operation in India, served on the board of KPMG’s Asia- Pacific practice and was the chairman and CEO of KPMG India. On his return to the U.S. from India, Sridar set up and headed KPMG's practice focused on early-stage companies. In addition, he has made a number of private investments in a wide variety of sectors. Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) from the University of Calcutta and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
