25 years of experience in assessing and selecting funds. Previously worked in Manchester as a stock broker for Henry Cooke Lumsden (HCL) where he worked for twelve years. At HCL, was responsible for the management of the company's Portfolio Management Service (PMS), a forerunner of the multimanager concept, as well as becoming Managing Director of the company's unit trust subsidiary, Arkwright Management. Left HCL in 1994 to establish a northern office for Cazenove Fund Management, based in Chester. After a stint with Aberdeen Asset Management, formed Mercater Capital Management with Alaric Gordon in 2003 and is Chief Investment Officer, responsible for Asset Allocation and Fund Selection. Member of the Securities Institute.
