Bio
Dr. Savarese is a Managing Director at Montreux Equity Partners. Since joining the firm, Dr. Savarese was actively involved in Montreux’s investment decisions in Asthmatx (Boston Scientific, NYSE: BSX), Orexigen (NASDAQ: OREX), Cerexa (Forest Labs, NYSE: FRX), Somaxon (NASDAQ: SOMX), Pulmonx, Renal CarePartners, Glaukos, Moksha8, Fourteen22, and Tobira. Dr. Savarese currently is a board director or observer for several Montreux portfolio companies, including MAKO Surgical (NASDAQ: MAKO), Pivot Medical (Chairman), GC Aesthetics, Avantis Medical Systems, Novalar Pharmaceuticals and KFx Medical. Prior to joining Montreux, Dr. Savarese was Director of Business Development and Marketing with the entrepreneurial team at NeurogesX (NASDAQ: NGSX), a Montreux portfolio company focused on the treatment of neuropathic pain. Dr. Savarese started his career in the healthcare investment industry in the Investment Banking divisions at Credit Suisse and Merrill Lynch and as a consultant to both private equity firms and healthcare companies. Dr. Savarese pursued his clinical training in General and Orthopedic Surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery/Cornell University Medical College in New York City.
